Our Mission Statement:
To help all children and teens from co-parenting and stepfamily households enter their classrooms and homework environments ready to learn and meet their full adult potential by providing their moms, dads and stepparents emotions management support through our unique brand of service through the arts, an emphasis on creating shared memories, and to serve as a gateway to other prospective children and family services.
.

It is estimated that one out of every 10 children will experience two divorces of the custodial parent before he or she turns 16 (Furstenberg, 1988).

.
My heart, as a lifetime stepfamily member, understands much of the unspoken battles parents and stepparents, their children and stepchildren face. My focus is to increase the peace and reduce the stress of all family members and to help all the children in shared-parenting homes better focused students by helping parents and stepparents co-parent more smoothly in supportive home environments.

Sometimes, as arguing continues, children can act as the emotional barometer for the whole family - including an overtaxed, emotionally drained parent or stepparent. With a peacemaker's heart and a mediator in a private planning practice, I'm sensitive to the needs of all the family members as they move through transitions and the SAM Planning-tm process.

.
Stepfamily and co-parenting stresss can be reduced through advance, SAM Planning-tm originated by Tricia Powe in 1990. There are times when mental health services are needed, but we do not offer individual or family therapy. Locating a variety of accessible resources - including therapists, however, is an integral part of planning - like locating your fire extinguisher before you experience a fire. With adequate planning, the goal is fire prevention!
