Recipes wanted for a cookbook that blends families.
.
Corona,
Calif. – October 23, 2011 A
small business owner serving co-parenting and stepfamily moms, dads, and stepparents has launched the “Let’s
Blend Cookbook” Project as a means to continue helping the population it serves. Its best hit-count on record indicates
more parents than ever are seeking assistance. The first six months of the year garnered 53,898 hits for the niche-filling
website serving parents with children after divorce and remarriage. Trying to complete the project in time for holiday gift-giving, recipes
are wanted from children and family-minded businesses and support organizations as well as anyone who can make tastebuds
sing. This unique cookbook will couple favorite recipes with shared-parenting and blended-family tips.
.
“Part of our mission statement includes facilitating connections to additional
service providers, and the creation of shared family memories to serve as anchors during stormy co-parenting seasons. Everyone
has a favorite recipe or scent of a meal which will trigger memories of good times in the kitchen or special family occasions,”
said Tricia Powe, lifetime stepfamily member, mom and stepmom, and mediator-strategist at StepfamilySystems.com.
.
An estimated 70% of the divorced and widowed choose remarriage according to an
article featured by the Center for Law and Social Policy (clasp.org), and over 60% of those remarriages with children fail. By
sharing the results of its research, tips and insights from other moms, dads, and stepparents, and experts from mental health,
legal services, and education professionals, StepfamilySystems.com is known for it unique forms of support. The
cookbook effort is another unusual outreach and support option encouraging parents leading stepfamilies to connect
to care. Recipe submissions are not required to have personal stories; quotes and sidebars will be added where needed
with stepfamily quotes and tid-bits.
.
"The Let’s Blend Cookbook is our way of bringing families together and to share the moments that matter
most, and is a creative and meaningful way to generate proceeds for day-to-day operations so we can continue
helping new-opportunity families.” Submission deadline exxtended to November 20, 2011. For more information on
