It is easy to say the show must go on, but today we could not carry that work ethic through. We had a substitute manager at the station this morning, which was fine. However, an earlier show crew made some broadcast board changes which we could not fix ourselves. Argh. Well, that's the way it goes in stepfamilies, too. 

Sometimes, it is best to go with the flow because you can't change what is out of your control anyway. Sounds easy, but it isn't when there are things that have said that are inaccurate or worse, only partial truths being passed off as the whole truth. I hear it all the time. It seems to be the worse between SMs and BMs - women! To help stepfamilies navigate their way through the inherent challenges they face, I have made the 60 - 70 mile trek into the studio diligently for two months. Today was the celebration of the second month of broadcasting and the end of our experiential run until we successfully achieve funding. I had a very special guest on the line for you today. Her name is Shirley Cress Dudley and her link is in the Resource Directory.

Shirley, being the warm-hearted person and filled with counseling experience, was calm everytime I opened her line as we tried to get the broadcast going! Oh, you should have seen us in the studio: The substitute manager was crawling under the broadcast desk, checking connections while my husband held up disconnected plug-ins wondering where on earth they would squeeze into the highway of wires to get the show running. There I was, perspiration on my nose, turning buttons and flipping switches, probably making things worse!
